Elroy was born Feb. 8, 1940, eight miles southeast of Remsen, in their rural home, the son of Gilbert and Marie (Grage) Roling. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
Elroy married Marge Ramspott June 17, 1967, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Pender, Neb.
Roling Body Shop opened in 1970, where Elroy continued pursuing the profession he loved up until his illness.
In his leisure time, he loved spending time with his family, restoring classics, fishing, and having coffee with friends at Ed's Cafe.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marge; children: Troy and Nikki Roling of Stewart, Minn., Sue and Doug Masuen of Le Mars, and Todd and Paula Roling of Cokato, Minn.; grandchildren: Noah, Addie, Kasen, Raedyn, Makena, Kennedi, Jack, Colton, Ashton, and Trinaty; brothers, Wendall (Darlene) of Rapid City, S.D., and Danny (Gloria) of Sioux City.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church, Kingsley. The Rev. Duane Miesner will officiate. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Rohde Funeral Home of Kingsley.
