The Le Mars Community Schools' dance team is hosting the annual dance exhibition Friday.

The 2011 Le Mars Community Dance Team Exhibition will be held in the Le Mars Community High School gym, starting at 6 p.m.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

The event features several dance teams as well as young dancers.

LCS' dance team will perform all of the dances they have done throughout the year. Those include the state pom routine, the state kick routine, two hip hop routines, a Valentine's dance, a jazz routine, another pom routine and a Christmas dance.

Gehlen Catholic School and Sheldon Community School's dance teams will perform two or three dances.

"We will have students from all the elementary schools perform along with middle school students this year," said Amy Davis, LCS dance coach.

These students learn their dances at Clark Elementary the night before the event, Davis said.

The price to attend is $3 for admission, while children age 5 and under are free.

"This is our biggest fundraiser we do," Davis said. "The proceeds help us go to state dance team and compete and also purchase items we need throughout the year."
