Elizabeth A. "Betty" Frank, 84, of Correctionville, and formerly of Kingsley and Remsen, died suddenly Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, at the Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City.
Elizabeth Ann Frank was born Oct. 28, 1926, in Hutchinson, Kan., one of three children born to Paul and Elizabeth Weiss. She attended school at Hutchinson High School.
On Nov. 25, 1944, Elizabeth and Forest Arnold Frank were united in marriage in California. The couple made Des Moines their home following their marriage.
Forest's occupation required them to relocate to Ottumwa, Sioux City, Kingsley, Remsen and Correctionville. After her children were raised, Betty worked part-time at local grocery stores and at Zenith in Sioux City.
In her spare time she enjoyed quilting, sewing and crocheting.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Jennis Henshaw of Moville; a son, Douglas Frank of Correctionville; two grandchildren, Shanna Barton and her husband, Richard of Moville, and Brian Henshaw of Atlantic; a great-grandson, Tom Barton of Moville; and a sister Mary Rohr of Hutchinson, Kan.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Forest; a son, Thomas Frank; and a brother-in-law, Frank Rohr.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today (Friday) at Johnson-Earnest Funeral Home in Kingsley, with the Rev. Roger Kurtenbach officiating. Interment will be in the Sunset View Cemetery, Washta. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at the Johnson-Earnest Funeral Home in Kingsley, where the family will greet relatives and friends until Betty's funeral service at 2 p.m.
