Carol E. (Christman) Bligh, 58, of South Sioux City, Neb., went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, Nov. 28, 2010, at a Sioux City hospital surrounded by her family.
Carol was born Oct. 4, 1952, in Mapleton, the daughter of Harold and Evelyn (Christensen) Christman. Carol grew up in the Smithland and Remsen areas. She graduated from Remsen-Union High School in 1970. She continued her education by attending Nettleton Business College in Sioux City, graduating in 1971.
Carol worked in banking for many years in the Sioux City area.
Carol enjoyed spending time with her family, playing card games, gardening and giving to others. She was a true inspiration to all who knew her.
She fought her cancer with absolute courage and a never give up attitude. It may have taken her body, but it never came close to taking her spirit.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Chris Dunlap; her fiancÚ Rory Barker; granddaughter: Nico Lynn; sisters, Bev Christman, Elaine Hansen and Sharon (Kim) Sparr all of Sioux City, and Sandra Christman of San Antonio, Texas; a brother, Craig (Cheri) Christman of Oyens; nieces, Sara, Emma, Anne and Sherrie and nephews, Clint and Jeremy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Ken, Clint and William and a niece: Carrie Sparr.
A celebration of life will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at River Hills Church in South Sioux City, Neb., with the Rev. Kevin Roach officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Becker-Hunt Funeral Home in South Sioux City.
