Bob was born Aug. 14, 1937, at rural Le Mars, the son of Roger "Hap" and Dorothy (Thiel) Reuter. He was raised in the Le Mars area. He attended school at Gehlen Catholic. He then worked for Nemmers Plumbing in Le Mars.
On Nov. 30, 1957, he married Theresa Vaske at Remsen. The couple made their home in Le Mars where Bob worked for Le Mars Transfer Trucking. They then moved to a farm near Oyens where Bob began farming in 1961. They lived there until retiring in Le Mars in 1998.
He enjoyed farming, trips to the Oyens Elevator and coffee at Vander Meer Bakery.
Bob was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Oyens, Knights of Columbus, former member of Plymouth Co-Op board of directors, served in the National Guard in Le Mars for 8 years.
Survivors include his wife, Theresa of Le Mars; six children, Julie (Kevin) McKinney of Storm Lake, Vicky (Bob) Heidesch of Remsen, Cindy (Dale) Hansen of Alton, Jerry (Kate) Reuter of Le Mars, Karen (Chris) Fullinfaw of Omaha, Neb., and Keith (Tabitha) Reuter of Le Mars; 20 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; five brothers, Ron (Meredith) Reuter of Marcus, Terry (Janeen) Reuter of Le Mars, Steve (Elizabeth) Reuter of Minneapolis, Minn., Dave (Sandy) Reuter of Le Mars, Doug (Monica) Reuter of Le Mars; three sisters, Cathy (Keith) Popp of Le Mars, Alice (Glenn) Ruhland of Le Mars, Ruth Padgett of Oskaloosa; five sisters-in-law, Marian Holzman of Alton, Alvira Schwarz of Marcus, Rita Williams of Sioux City, Sr. Phyllis Vaske of Oklahoma, and Sr. Rosemary Vaske of Mt Pleasant; one brother-in-law, Al (Susie) Vaske of Remsen.
He was preceded in death by, his parents; his step-mother, Ione; one son, Timothy, three grandsons, Caleb and Adam Fullinfaw, Keaton Reuter; one brother, Jim Reuter and his wife Claire; three sisters-in-law, Lucille Zenk and her husband Victor, Loretta Vaske, Sr. Florence Vaske; three brothers-in-law, Gordon Holzman, Marvin Schwarz, Shorty Williams.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Le Mars with the Rev. William McCarthy, the Rev. Tim Hogan and the Rev. Paul Eisele officiating. Burial will be in St. Catherine's Catholic Cemetery in Oyens. Visitation will be anytime after 2 p.m. Thursday. There will be a parish rosary at 3 p.m., a vigil prayer service at 7 p.m. followed by a Knights of Columbus rosary, all at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Le Mars.
Casketbearers will be Mike and Matt McKinney, Jason and Josh Heidesch, Mitchell Hansen and Blaine Reuter.
Services have been entrusted to the Fisch Funeral Home and Monument of Remsen.
