Mrs. Roy (Margaret) Steffen, 75, of Remsen, died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010, at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars.

Marge was born March 27, 1935, at South Sioux City, Neb., the daughter of Leonard and Hazel (Nelson) Bruckner. She was raised in Leeds and graduated from Central High School in Sioux City in 1953.

On Jan. 14, 1954, she married Roy Steffen at Christ Lutheran Church in Remsen. She worked for Floyd Valley Community Health as a home care aid, cooked at several area restaurants and Union School, in addition to farming with Roy until their retirement in 1998. Roy died Oct. 23, 2010.

Marge was a member of Christ Lutheran Church LCMS and Christ Lutheran Ladies Aid in Remsen.

She loved to go fishing, camping, played cards with the Jolly Bidders card club for more than 50 years, and attending all of her children's and grandchildren's school events.

Survivors include: one daughter, Deb Steffen of Remsen; three sons, John and his daughter, Jessica of Remsen, Gary and his sons, Zachary and Isaac of Lakeville, Minn., and Ryan and his children, Joshua and Amanda of Germantown; three brothers, Larry Bruckner and his wife, Diane, Don Bruckner and his wife, Paula, and Bob Buckner and his wife, Cindy all of Omaha, Neb.; and one sister-in-law, Carole Steffen of Sioux City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter in infancy; one brother, Les Bruckner; one nephew, Jesse Bruckner; one brother-in-law, Orville Steffen.

Funeral services will be Monday, at 10:30 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church LCMS in Remsen, with the Rev. Dennis Martens officiating. Burial will be in the Remsen Community Cemetery. Visitation will be anytime after 1 p.m. Sunday with a prayer service at 4 p.m., all at Christ Lutheran Church LCMS in Remsen.

Casketbearers will be Eric Bruckner, Greg Bruckner, Scott Bruckner, Tony Bruckner, David True, Jeremy Homan.

Services have been entrusted to the Fisch Funeral Home & Monument of Remsen.
