Jonathon Marshall, 27, of Le Mars, died Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010, east of Akron, of injuries sustained in a car accident.

Jonathon Wade Marshall was born Feb. 12, 1983, in Le Mars, the son of Reed and Julie (Shear) Marshall. Jon was raised in the Cleghorn area. He attended school at Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn High School in Marcus and had continued his education at Western Iowa Tech.

For the last couple of years, Jon has worked for Van's Sanitation in Le Mars. He had also worked for Kellen Feedlot near Le Mars and area farmers.

Jon was united in marriage to Kiersten Koopman Sept. 22, 2007, at Spring Lake Park in Cherokee. Together, they are the parents of Sierra, Eajon, and Nova.

Jon loved the outdoors, especially bow hunting and fishing. He enjoyed participating in area demolition derbys. He was a talented man, who could fix or repair almost anything.

Jon, Kiersten, and family recently purchased an acreage near Le Mars where they had many plans for the future.

His greatest joy in life was his three children, Sierra, Eajon, and Nova. Jon was a wonderful father who would do anything for his kids and always worked hard to provide for his family.

He will be remembered for his fun, out-going personality, his stubbornness and his huge heart that often went to the aid of family, friends, or anyone in need. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends and forever kept in their hearts.

Survivors include his wife, Kiersten, his three children, Sierra, age 11, Eajon, age 4, and Nova, age 2, all at home; his father; Reed Marshall and his wife, Gail of Hague, Va.; his mother, Julie Marshall of Le Mars; two brothers, Bill Marshall and his wife, Jennifer and Luke Marshall and his wife, Wendy and their family Ali, Hannah, Zach, and Mercedes, all of Boone; a sister, Amanda Marshall and her children Freddy and Kelsey of Boone; his mother-in-law, Anne Koopman and his other mother-in-law, Polly Molloy of Le Mars; his maternal grandmother, Harriett Shear of Cleghorn; and several other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Friday at the Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars with the Rev. Kevin Richter of St. Joseph Catholic Church officiating. Abiding by Jon's wishes, he was cremated.

Visitations with the family present will be after 4 p.m. until service time.
