Two Le Mars funeral homes merge

The change became official July 1, 2010.

"By joining with the Carlsen Funeral Home, we will continue to assist those who call on us, while being better able to adapt to the changing needs of those we serve," said Bob Feuerstein. "The facilities and staff we can offer by being part of Carlsen Funeral Home will allow us to provide even more to those who need our help."

The Carlsen Funeral Home was founded by Doug and Karen Carlsen in 2001.

In addition to the Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars, the Carlsens and partners Dan and Lori Rexwinkel also operate the Carlsen Funeral Home - Schroeder Chapel in Akron.

Carlsen Funeral Home, by joining forces with Feuerstein Funeral Home, will be able to expand on offering professional funeral services, Carlsen said.

"Our goal is always to provide the most helpful, sympathetic, and understanding assistance anywhere," Carlsen said. "By incorporating the Feuerstein Funeral Home into our business and by welcoming Bob Feuerstein to our staff we will continue providing the best service available to those who place their trust in us."

These two funeral businesses will be operating from the Carlsen Funeral Home at 107 12th St. S.E. in Le Mars and will operate together as the Carlsen Funeral Home.

Carlsen, Feuerstein and Rexwinkel welcome questions as they continue forward, serving the community of Le Mars and surrounding areas.
