Sara and David von Arb

Sara Langel and David von Arb of Johnston were united in marriage June 12, 2010, in Johnston. Judge Scott Rosenberg officiated the 7 p.m. ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of the late Larry and Lynn Langel of Le Mars. The bridegroom is the son of the late Melvin and Lillian von Arb of Alton.

Providing music for the ceremony were soloists Ann Weber Knudsen and Della Burman, and guitarists Blake Seei, Doug Lastine and Steve Hagenmoser.

Attending the bride were Terry Langel Seei of Chicago, Ill., Mary Langel Newman of Woodstock, Ill., Ann Weber Knudsen of Omaha, Neb., Missy Schipper Sneed of Kansas City, Kan., and Ashly von Arb of Des Moines

Attending the bridegroom were Jim Hudson of Johnston, Kelly Parker of West Des Moines, Joe Keagle of Mt. Pleasant, Tim von Arb of Johnston, and Jon von Arb via webcam from his station in Iraq.

Ringbearer was Nick Wearmouth, son of the bride.

The reception followed at the couple's home in Johnston.

Sara is a 1990 graduate of Gehlen Catholic High School. She received her bachelor of arts in elementary education from Upper Iowa University in 2004. She is a second grade teacher in the Des Moines Public School District.

David is a 1982 graduate of Floyd Valley High School at Alton, and a 1987 graduate of Iowa State University, where he earned a bachelor of science degree in computer science. He is employed with DuPont Pioneer in the IT Department.

The couple took a wedding trip to Ft. Myers Beach and Sanibel Island, Fla.

They are at home in Johnston.
