K-P rips 16 hits in win over Central Lyon

The Kingsley-Pierson baseball team pounded out 16 hits as it salvaged the second game of its own Invitational on Saturday, defeating Central Lyon 12-4.

Brandon Bainbridge pitched a complete-game five-hitter and allowed just one earned run while striking out four.

He also finished 2-for-4 at the plate with two RBIs and two runs scored.

Tyler Campbell was 4-for-4 with four runs scored, two doubles, a triple and two RBIs.

Tate Rohde had two hits and three RBIs while Todd Bottorff, Ryan Mercer, Travis Neumann and Justin Keck all added two hits.

Clay Central-Everly 23, K-P 1

The Panthers had just two hits in a four-inning loss to the Mavericks in the opener of the K-P Invite. Neumann and Campbell had the lone hits. Tyler Sudbeck scored the lone run and was driven in by Levi Mahrt.

K-P 11, River Valley 6

The Panthers earned a Western Valley Conference victory over River Valley on Friday.

Rohde finished with three hits, three runs scored and two RBIs while Mercer added three hits, four RBIs and two runs.

Sudbeck and Neumann each added two hits and a double.

Mercer received the start and struck out two in three scoreless innings. Neumann added five strikeouts as he pitched 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief.
