Ashley Bowers and Jason Macrander

Ashley Bowers and Jason Macrander of Lincoln, Neb. were united in marriage Dec. 5, 2009, at the Durham Museum in Omaha, Neb. The ceremony was officiated by Paul Dulik, a friend of the couple.

Ashley is the daughter of Larry and Rhonda Bowers of Le Mars. Jason is the son of Jay and Michelle Macrander of Papillion, Neb.

Jennifer Harvey, sister of the bride, of Sioux City, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Madeline Maser of Chicago, Ill., Sarah Kuhi of Omaha, Neb., Rosey Masek-Block of St. Louis, Mo.,, and Ashley Loudd of Omaha, Neb.

Chris Macrander, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. Groomsmen were Alex Schutz of Omaha, Neb., Kenneth Harvey of Sioux City, brother-in-law of the bride, Matthew Macrander of Omaha, Neb., brother of the groom, and Jake Shimerdla of Omaha, Neb.

Flowergirls were Reese Madden and Hailie Macrander, cousins of the bridegroom. Ringbearers were Cole Madden, cousin of the bridegroom, and Thomas Harvey, nephew of the bride.

Seating guests were Phil Dulik of Omaha, Neb., Josh Buechler of Waukee, and Matt Buhrman of Grand Island, Neb.

Ashley is a 2002 graduate of Le Mars Community High School. She has a bachelor's and master's degree in biology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Ashley is employed as a keeper at the Lincoln Children's Zoo in Lincoln, Neb., and teaches biology classes at a local community college.

Jason is a 2002 graduate of Platteview High School. He has a bachelor's degree in biology and fisheries & wildlife from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He is currently finishing his master's degree in biology.

The couple took a wedding trip to the Bahamas and are at home in Lincoln.
