John Joseph Nipp was born May 17, 1933, in Irene, S.D., the son of John and Anna (Buckley) Nipp. The family later moved to a farm north of Le Mars where Johnny attended country school. Johnny had a Model A roadster that was always in perfect condition. He enjoyed visiting his brother Bernard and giving the nieces and nephew and neighbor kids rides in the rumble seat, an experience they still talk about.

He always looked forward to the fall when he would return to the family farm south of Merrill. He loved helping his parents and neighbors with the harvest.

Johnny was an avid reader and his family kept him supplied with books. He spent his last years in the Woodruff Nursing Home in Bellflower, Calif.

Johnny will be lovingly remembered by his sister Colleen Smith and her husband Stuart of Cherokee; brothers Bob Nipp and his wife Andree of Falls Church, Va.,, Bernard Nipp and his wife Peg of Downey, Calif., Don Nipp and his wife Dorothy of Merrill; and many nieces and nephews.
