Holly Varenhorst and Jason Schenzel of Hinton were united in marriage Sept. 19, 2009, at St. James Catholic Church in Le Mars. The Rev. Matt Hewitt officiated the ceremony.

Nuptial music was provided by Tim Pick, soloist, and Mary Ann List, organist.

The bride is the daughter of Robert and Claris Varenhorst of Le Mars. The bridegroom is the son of Mike and Deb Schenzel of Sioux City.

Maids of honor were Jeanette Varenhorst and Ann Varenhorst of Le Mars, both sisters of the bride. Bridesmaids were Kim Prier of Dickens, Carrie Puetz of Sioux City, Dana Stevens of Sioux City and Krystal Schenzel, sister of bridegroom, of Sioux City.

Flowergirl was Allison Probst of Alton, cousin of the bride.

Best man was Jeremy Fischer of Hinton. Groomsmen were Jeff Jurgensmeier, Ben Vondrak, Ryan Bohlke and Al Nelson, all of Hinton.

DJ Fischer of Hinton was ringbearer.

Seating the guests were Curt Von Hagel, cousin of bride, of Sioux City, Jon Marking of Nashville, Tenn., Christopher Fischer of Hinton and Andy Kovarna of Hinton.

The reception and dance were held at the Willow Creek Golf Course Clubhouse, following the ceremony.

Holly is a graduate of Le Mars Community High School. She graduated from Morningside College with a bachelor of science degree in biology and nursing and is currently pursuing master of science degree in nursing for nurse practitioner at Creighton University, Omaha, Neb.

She is employed as patient care services manager at Mercy Medical Center-Sioux City.

Jason attended Hinton High School. He is self-employed with Schenzel Construction and is a volunteer fireman with Hinton Fire & Rescue Department.

The couple is at home in Hinton.
