Bouma's shot lifts Jays past Eagles 44-43

Trevor Bouma banked in a buzzer shot for the Jays as Gehlen Catholic squeaked past Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn 44-43 on Friday night in Marcus.

The Eagles took the 43-42 lead with a pair of Will Hansen free throws with eight seconds remaining in the War Eagle Conference matchup before Bouma drilled the game-winner.

The Jays improve to 13-5 on the season and 7-2 in War Eagle Conference play.

Drew Kellen paced the Jays with 12 points and Bouma scored 11.

Hansen scored 11 for the Eagles.

The Jays host Unity Christian in WEC play on Monday before traveling to Akron-Westfield on Tuesday.
