Kenneth M. Dorman, 72, of Sanborn, and a former Le Mars resident, died Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City.

Kenneth Marvin Dorman, the son of Hulda (Storm) and Marvin Dorman, was born June 10, 1937, in Sanborn. He spent his childhood years in Sanborn and graduated from Sanborn Public School.

On June 18, 1955, he was united in marriage to Mariel Boyens at Grace Lutheran Church in Primghar. Following the marriage, they made their home in Sanborn. They were blessed with four daughters: Diane "Dee," Karen, Shari and Kendra.

Kenny worked for Daryle's Decorating in Sanborn from 1955 until 1963. He then spent nine years driving a milk truck route for Spencer Dairy.

In 1972, he began the final phase of his working career at Wells' Blue Bunny in Le Mars, at first driving a milk route, and in 1980, moving inside to the ice cream factory. In 1986, Kenny (by now known as "Bunny") and Mariel moved to Le Mars to be closer to his work. They returned to Sanborn in the spring of 2000, and Bunny worked part-time at the OK REC until shortly before his death.

Kenny was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, where he was baptized and confirmed. He spent 24 years serving the Sanborn Fire Department.

He enjoyed fishing, bowling, refinishing furniture, dancing, doing word search books, and playing cards.

One of his greatest joys was making everyone laugh and smile.
