Wilhelmina Caroline Weber was born April 17, 1906, in Tallula, Ill., the daughter of Henry and Tena (Eilers) Weber. Minnie's family moved to a farm north of Brunsville, Iowa 11 months later. She was confirmed at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Brunsville and attended country school near her home. After her education she assisted her family with farming and housework.
On Sept. 2, 1924 Minnie and Fred Plueger were united in marriage. Minnie joined Christ Lutheran Church, where Fred was a member. The couple farmed in the area for many years. They were blessed with three children, Arlene, Gladys and Stanley. Fred died Nov. 5, 1985.
Minnie was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church. She participated in circle, helped with cleaning and funeral lunches. She was a fantastic baker and was known for her pumpkin pies.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Arlene Olson of Le Mars, and Gladys Schulz and her husband Lester "Bud" of Merrill; her grandchildren, Denny Petersen of Sioux City, Kim Plueger of Le Mars, and Kelly Plueger and his wife Julie of Craig; and a great-granddaughter Isabelle Plueger of Craig.
Minnie was preceded in death by her parents; a son and his wife Stanley and Helen Plueger; a son-in-law William Olson; three sisters and six brothers.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. today (Monday) at Christ Lutheran Church, (Grant Township) rural Le Mars. The Rev. Dan Gerrietts officiated. Burial was at the church cemetery. Visitation began at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Mauer - Johnson Funeral Home of Le Mars, with the family present from 6-8 p.m. There was also be one hour of visitation at the church prior to the funeral service.
