Ashley Elizabeth Kinney and Scott David Bortscheller of Laurens were united in marriage June 20, 2009, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Remsen. The Rev. Paul Eisele officiated the 3 p.m. ceremony. Pianist was Jeannette Kinney and soloists were Amanda and Megan Kinney.

The bride is the daughter of Bob and Sherry Kinney of Alton and the bridegroom is the son of Dave and Sharon Bortscheller of Remsen.

Abbey Kinney of Alton, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Kristin Struss of Fairmont, Minn., Sara Bortscheller and Stacie Bortscheller of Remsen, both sisters of the bridegroom.

Best man was Brad Tendal of Laurens. Serving as groomsmen were Justin Lehner of Le Mars, Daniel McHenry of Paullina and Zac Kinney of Alton, brother of the bride.

Ringbearer was Cade Pepper, cousin of the bride.

Seating the wedding guests were Bob Kinney, father of the bride, Dave Bortscheller, father of the bridegroom, Dick Sievers, uncle of the bride and Rich Schulz, uncle of the bridegroom.

The reception followed the ceremony at Sioux Golf and Country Club.

Ashley is a graduate of Morningside College in Sioux City and is employed with Lawrence L. Northway, CPA office.

Scott is a graduate of Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon and is employed with Laurens Municipal Power and Communications.
