Voting 5-0 the supervisors approved the most recent look for the layout of the building. Last week they came to a consensus on that design.
The next step is to send the finalized floor plan to the architect, who will then determine cost estimates for the annex building.
The floor plan approved Tuesday includes a two-story building with a full, unfurnished basement and attached one-story garage.
The building will house county departments including driver's license, economic development, juvenile court services, zoning and sanitation.
It will also have a multipurpose room, conference room, restroom, empty office, staff area and lobby.
The supervisors also:
* Heard the Plymouth County Conservation Department was approved for an $85,000 Community Attractions and Tourism grant for its Education Conservation Opportunities (ECO) Center. The conservation department must raise the remaining about $10,000 cost of the project within 120 days and not exceed the $500,000 construction price tag or the grant money will be withdrawn.
* Approved publicizing three open seats in Districts 1, 2 and 4 on the Local Option Sales Tax (LOST) Advisory Board.
* Finalized a contract with Gary's Carpet Cleaning Inc., of Le Mars, for painting parts of the third floor interior of the courthouse. The company plans to start today (Wednesday). Workers will do most of the painting in the evenings and weekends to minimize inconvenience to the public and employees.
