Final numbers verified 1,017 residents visited the polls for an 11 percent voter turnout.
The county's cost for the election was $7,858, but that amount will be reimbursed by the cities, said Cheri Nitzschke, deputy auditor.
Le Mars' cost for the election was the highest at $2,802 and Westfield's the lowest at $412, Nitzschke said.
Two absentee ballots were not counted because one was not signed and the other was voted on by someone it was not intended for, Nitzschke said.
For example, she said, it's possible whoever requested the ballot be mailed to them may have given it to someone else.
The supervisors also:
* Accepted a $9,400 bid from Gary's Carpet Service Inc., of Le Mars, to paint portions of the third floor of the courthouse interior including the dome. Acceptance depends on clarifying the company's proposed price is a bid, not an estimate, and the company can provide a certificate of insurance.
* Approved four minor subdivisions: Flannery Farms in Section 33 of Liberty Township, Feuerhelm Grain in Section 26 of Johnson Township, Miller Farms in Section 16 of Remsen Township and Whiskey Creek Farms in Section 5 of Lincoln Township.
* Held a public hearing on vacating and closing portions of several platted county roadways that have never been developed. No one from the public objected. The vacation of the roads was approved by the supervisors following the hearing.
