Ann M. Hoomany, 85, longtime resident of Fulton, N.Y., and sister of Jharleth "Ginger" Sitzmann of Le Mars and Dr. Ramona Kennedy and her husband Dr. Al of Cherokee, died Saturday Sept. 19, 2009, in Boca Raton, Fla.
The former Ann M. Meylor was born March 9, 1924, in De Smet, S.D., the daughter of Ray and Mamie (Cox) Meylor. She grew up in Marcus and graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in Cherokee. After graduation, she moved to Washington, D.C., where she met and married John Hoomany.
Ann is survived by her husband of 66 years, John Hoomany of Boca Raton, Fla.; four children: Joanne Glinsky and husband John of Summerfield, N.C., John Hoomany, Jr. and wife Ann of Boca Raton, Fla., Dr. Joe Hoomany and fiancée Debra Mahr of Sioux City and Jerry Hoomany and wife Julie of Flagler Beach, Fla.; two grandchildren: Tracy Glinsky and fiancée Mark Izydore of Jupiter, Fla., and Christopher Hoomany of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters: Jharleth "Ginger" Sitzmann of Le Mars and Dr. Ramona Kennedy and her husband Dr. Al of Cherokee; two sisters-in-law: Betty Meylor and Ann Meylor, both of Le Mars.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her four brothers: Paul, Dr. Don, Dr. R.J. and Dean Meylor; and a sister Mary Elaine Meylor.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 13, at Holy Name Catholic Church in Marcus. Inurnment will be in the Holy Name Catholic Cemetery in Marcus. Ann will be laid to rest beside her parents and other family members at the Holy Name Cemetery in Marcus.
The Feuerstein Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
