Community Thanksgiving service is Sunday

A community Thanksgiving celebration service will be held Sunday, Nov. 15, for all area residents.

The 4 p.m. service will be held a United Methodist Church of Le Mars, 901 Third Ave. S.E.

A prelude of violin music will begin at 3:40 p.m.

Two choirs will add their voices to the traditional service and will rehearse earlier in the afternoon.

All adults interested in singing the anthem, "Give Thanks," will rehearse at 3 p.m. at the church. The choir is directed by Sue Ashenfelter.

Children are welcome to join the children's choir in rehearsal at 3:30 p.m. in the church lower level. They will sing "I have the Joy, Joy, Joy, Joy Down in My Heart" under the direction of Kim Waddell.

The service is organized by community members of various denominations.

The offering received during the service will be distributed by the Le Mars Ministerial Association to help those in need in the community.
