St. Mary's wraps up WEC play with pair of wins

The Remsen St. Mary's volleyball team wrapped up War Eagle Conference regular season action with a pair of victories at Tuesday's triangular at RSM.

"It was a good night," RSM coach Janelle Schorg said. "It was good to get two wins and get them both done in two games."

The Hawks faced Spalding Catholic in their first match of the evening. RSM took care of the Spartans 25-21 in game one before closing out the match with a 25-15 win in game two.

Emma Krier had five kills, two ace serves, one block and 14 digs for RSM.

Brielle Biezuns had five kills, one block and nine digs. Emily Roder chipped in four kills while Mercedees Ricke tallied three kills and 15 digs.

Jennifer Feller dished out 11 assists.

The Hawks capped their victorious evening with a 2-0 win over cross-town rival Remsen-Union.

RSM took game one by a 25-19 margin and closed out the win with a 25-21 tally in game two.

Biezuns had seven kills, 15 digs and one ace to pace the Hawks. Krier and Ricke each added four kills while Krier added a block and 11 digs.

Feller and Sadie Lewis each had a pair of aces while Emily Klein added one ace and 12 digs.

Feller dished out 15 assists.

Remsen-Union stats and the score from its match against Spalding were not available at press time.
