The Plymouth County Cyclists Club is installing more places to lock up bikes around downtown Le Mars this month.

The club has ordered 12 bike poles to install downtown along Central Avenue.

The bike poles are a metal pole with a ring on top that allows two bikes to be locked.

The first pole was installed early this month, and the rest are in the ground or on the way soon.

The Plymouth County Cyclists Club is also purchasing several multiple slot bike racks to be placed at the Olson Cultural Event Center, the Plymouth County Courthouse and other locations.

The club received approximately $3,000 in a Hotel/Motel Sales Tax grant to help pay for the bike racks.

"We committed some club money because the grant requires a 30 percent match, and we're still seeking local donations," said Mark Sturgeon, of Le Mars, a member of the Plymouth County Cyclists Club.

To donate, contact Sturgeon, Wayne Marty or other members of the Plymouth County Cyclists Club.

See? if we had only left the old horse tie posts, they wouldn't have to have these.... LOL

Good Job!
