Auditions are 7 to 8:30 p.m. next Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 14 and 15 at the Postal Playhouse, 105 First St. N.E., Le Mars.
Characters have varying personalities including being petty, meek, hesitant, naive, honest, loud, quiet, thoughtful, angry and bitter. They are young, middle-aged and elderly from all walks of life.
"Twelve Angry Jurors" is a story about a 19-year-old boy who has just stood trial for the fatal stabbing of his father. It looks like an open-and-shut case until one of the jurors cautions the others about making it a "personal thing."
However it does become personal with each juror revealing his or her own character as the various testimonies are re-examined. Tempers get short, arguments heated and the jurors become 12 angry people.
Rehearsals usually begin at 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. The time commitment depends on the size of the role.
No need to prepare in advance, but if you would like to read the script before auditions contact Larry Brangwin, director, at 546-7652.
