LCS Alumni Assn. sends invites for 2010 All-School Reunion

Tuesday, September 8, 2009
Le Mars Community Schools alumni are getting ready for the 2010 All-School Reunion to be held July 2-4, 2010.

The Le Mars Community High School (LCHS) cafeteria was buzzing with activity Aug. 29 serving up letters, envelopes, address labels and stamps for class representatives to put together in the All-School Reunion mailing.

Representatives from the class of 1929 through this spring's 2009 graduates were on hand to help.

Individuals inserted information about his or her separate class gatherings set for the reunion weekend.

More than 8,000 first-class mail pieces were sent using the most current addresses from reunion class lists.

The effort was led by Carolyn Vance, Le Mars Community School District (LCSD) Alumni Association director.

She was assisted by the board of directors of the LCSD Alumni Association.

The mass mailing was completed in less than three hours by the dedicated school alumni.

Vance is asking for the public's help in locating "lost" alumni. If you know of an alumni who did not receive this mailing, and should have, contact Vance at the Alumni Office at 712-546-7650.

Any classes who e-mail or use Facebook or Twitter to keep in contact with distant classmates are asked to spread the word to bring back a great crowd for the July 4th Reunion.

Reunion forms are also available on-line at the alumni website: www.lemarsalumni.org.

A second project of the LCS Alumni Association is the 2010 Alumni Directory. This is the second directory put together for LCS alumni, the first was completed for the 2000 Decades of Excellence Reunion.

This second Le Mars Community School Alumni Directory will be the most comprehensive directory of LCHS alumni ever published. The contents of the directory will be divided into four sections: biographical, geographical, class roster, and most importantly the Introductory section showcasing the school's history and events.

All efforts are being made to contact Le Mars Community alumni via phone, e-mail and mail to obtain and verify biographical information.

The Alumni Association has contracted with Alumni Research, Inc. to collect and compile the information into a hard-bound, library quality volume and an online community.

Alumni may make the contact by calling 1-800-299-1230 to do their interview. Those who need to make a change to their initial interview or to order/cancel an alumni directory should call 1-800-325-8664.

This directory is being made available to Le Mars Community alumni only and is a limited edition press run and offered only one time.

Alumni Research, Inc. will soon contact those who have provided current telephone numbers and addresses to verify biographical information.

"Please help your alma mater to keep in touch with you," said Vance.
