The Lady Rockets opened the evening with 2-0 loss to host Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn. HMS took the first game 25-17 and took the second game 26-24.
Jen Ruba led the Lady Rockets with two kills while Brittany Weikel, Allison Schreiner, Mary Jo Galles and Kelsey Hansen each had one.
Galles had three assists and Taylor Stock chipped in two. Ruba and Brittany Sudtelgte each had two blocks, while Weikel and Schreiner had one.
Weikel was 9-for-10 in serve attempts with one ace. Schreiner led the Lady Rockets with seven digs. Katie Frericks had six, Weikel and Stock had five, Galles had four and Hansen chipped in three.
R-U dropped both games of their second match to Spirit Lake by identical 25-18 scores.
Weikel and Sudtelgte each had four kills to pace the Lady Rockets. Galles had six assists and Stock had four. Ruba, Sudtelgte and Galles each had a block.
Weikel, Galles, Hansen and Sudtelgte each had an ace. Weikel led R-U with six digs while Stock had four.
R-U returns to action on Saturday at the Sheldon Tournament.
