Final bids Saturday on chair art

Final bidding on "Sittin' Pretty" chairs at the Arts Center will be held Saturday.

The 46 chairs, painted by local artists for the annual fundraiser for the Le Mars Arts Council, will be handed to the highest bidder at 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8.

The chairs have been on exhibit at the Arts Center and then the Plymouth County Fair through July and early August.

For Saturday's finale, each of the chair artists have been invited to a Meet the Artist reception from 2 to 4 p.m.

At 4 p.m. bidding ends with winners announced and checks collected. There will also be a drawing for the Easy Chair Raffle Basket winner at that time.

This event is open to the public.

There is still time to stop by the Arts Center at 200 Central Ave. S.E. to see the grouping and get a bid number.

Gallery hours are Friday from 1 to 5 p.m.; with the final hours Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m.
