Brian and Kari Niehus

Kari Carlson and Brian Niehus were united in marriage July 19, 2008, at Holy Name Catholic Church in Marcus. Officiants were Father Ken Luff and Pastor Craig Miller.

The bride is the daughter of Scott and Christy Carlson of Marcus. Grandmothers are Barbara Carlson and the late Arnold Carlson, Joan Cronin and the late Elmer Theisen, all of Marcus.

The bridegroom is the son of Steve and Carolyn Niehus of Remsen, and the grandson of Ronald and Peg Niehus, August Nitzschke and the late Loretta Nitzschke, all of Remsen.

Organist was Mary Ann Ruden. Soloists were Carmin Miller and Tracey Kohler. Violinist was Kevin Ohrlund and flutist was Dawn Kuchel.

Maid of honor was Ashley Carlson, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Jacki Kleen, cousin of the bride, Katy Gogerty, sister-in-law of the couple, Amy Pick, and Emily Kearney. Junior bridesmaid was Abby Smith, cousin of the bridegroom.

Flower girls were McKenna Marion, cousin of the bride, and Madisyn Eggers, cousin of the bridegroom.

Personal attendant for the bride was Katie Vaske, cousin of the bride.

Best man was Michael Niehus, brother of the bridegroom. Groomsmen were Matt Schiltz, Aaron Christenson and Michael Steffen, and Nathan Carlson, brother of the bride.

Ring bearer was Noah Folkema, cousin of the bride.

Ushering the guests were Tyler McWilliams, Justin Nielsen and Adam Dirksen.

A reception and dance was held at the Avalon Ballroom in Remsen.

The couple is at home in Sioux City.
