Shawnee Miller fanned nine as she surrendered five runs - two earned - on five hits and three walks but failed to receive backup from her squad's offense in the Blackhawks' third loss in as many days.
"Overall our pitching and defense were both good but our bats didn't follow along," Hinton coach Phil Skamser said.
"We're hoping over the next few games we can figure out the hitting part and maybe get a few wins in the tournaments [next week]. We'll see what happens."
Hinton (12-15, 6-11) continues War Eagle Conference action on the road in Akron Thursday where it will face Class 1A's third-ranked Lady Westerners.
