Lady 'Dogs blast Tigers 10-0 in six

The Lady Bulldogs presented an even scoring front as they defeated the Tigers 10-0 in six innings on the road at Spencer Monday evening.

Le Mars got on the board with a pair of runs in the second and built on its lead, two runs per inning, until the 10-run verdict gave the Lady 'Dogs the win in the sixth.

Emily Ellefson powered the offense with a 3-for-3 plate performance that included a double.

Le Mars totaled six hits in the win.

Jordan Heidebrink collected the win in the circle, tossing a two-hit shutout with seven K's.

Le Mars (20-9, 8-5) steps out of Lakes Conference action on Wednesday to play Class 3A No. 3 Sioux City Bishop Heelan - which defeated the Lady 'Dogs 7-3 at Saturday's tournament in Spencer. The contest will have an early start as the field at Briar Cliff University does not have lights.

The Lady Bulldogs return home on Thursday to face Cherokee in league play.
