The Wildcats scored single runs in the first and third innings and added a pair in the fourth and sixth innings.
The Rockets scored their lone run in the third as Josh Bohnenkamp singled, moved to third on a Jonathan Schreiner single and scored on an RBI groundout by Matt Hansen.
R-U left 10 runners on base in the contest.
"Timely hitting was the name of game tonight," R-U coach Steve Neuberger said. "We couldn't get the big hit with runners on second and third."
Bohnenkamp pitched all six innings as he scattered eight hits while walking two and fanning seven. Just three of the six runs the sophomore allowed were earned.
"I was pretty pleased with the way he threw," Neuberger said. "A big thing for him is to stay ahead of hitters and for the most part he did. I thought he pitched pretty well."
Schreiner had a pair of hits for the Rockets, who registered six as a team.
R-U faces Westwood in a makeup contest Tuesday in Sloan.
