Lloyd Allen Teeter, age 75, formerly of Eldon, Iowa, died Monday, June 22, 2009, at his home in Blue Springs, Mo., surrounded by his family.
Lloyd was born April 2, 1934 in Birmingham, Iowa, the son of Thurman and Mamie (Greene) Teeter. He attended school in Eldon until the 10th grade. He served in the Army from 1955 to 1957. Lloyd married Shirley T. Williamson May 19, 1957. Shirley died in 2001. Lloyd married Rita Jimerson May 29, 2003.
He owned and operated Lloyd A. Teeter Painting from 1968 until January 2009 when his health did not allow him to continue his career. Most of his career was as a sub-contractor for Todd & Sargent of Ames.
He is survived by his wife, Rita; his children Vivian (Alan) Duke, Gulf Shores, Ala., Darlene Scully, St. Petersburg Fla., Mary (Mark) Buhman, Le Mars, Sheri Anderson, Le Mars, Thurman Teeter, Bethany, Mo., and Tonya (Malynda) Teeter, Oskaloosa, Alice Jimerson, Ottawa, Kan., Charles Jimerson, Jr., Edwardsville, Kan., and Patricia Thomas, Edwardsville, Kan.; one brother Glenn (Neva) Teeter of Agency; 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, Mamie and Thurman; his first wife, Shirley; his brothers, Jack, Gerald (Shorty), Clyde; his sisters, Helen Humble and Florence Hart; and his grandson, Benjamin P. Buhman.
Funeral services will be a 10 a.m. Friday at Bethany Memorial Chapel, Bethany, Mo., with burial at Rest Haven Memorial Cemetery in Eldon. Visitation is today (Thursday) from 7 to 8 p.m.
