Sudbeck's three-RBI double lifts K-P past BC-IG 10-9

Dani Sudbeck ripped a three-RBI double in the bottom of the seventh to lift Kingsley-Pierson past visiting Battle Creek-Ida Grove 10-9 in Western Valley Conference action Monday.

The Falcons jumped to an early lead with one run in the third and four more in the fourth.

But the Lady Panthers answered with three runs in the fourth to cut their deficit.

BC-IG boosted its lead to 8-3 after four-and-a-half before K-P pulled within two with three fifth-inning runs.

The Lady Panthers got within one with a run in the sixth before BC-IG scored its final run in the top of the seventh to lead 9-7.

K-P's offense registered nine hits on the night, powered by Sudbeck, DeAndra Mahrt and Jenn Henrich, who each tallied two hits.

Jackie Hoppe collected the win with a complete game effort. She gave up nine runs - two earned - on six hits while tossing seven K's.

K-P improves to 4-4 in WVC play and 6-21 overall.

The Lady Panthers travel to play Remsen-Union on Wednesday.
