Alison Tiefenthaler and Jake Freking of Le Mars announce their engagement and approaching marriage.

Alison is the daughter of Jim and Ann Tiefenthaler of Breda and Jake is the son of Randy and Lisa Freking of Le Mars.

The couple will be married in a 2 p.m. ceremony Aug. 1, 2009, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Breda. The reception will follow at the Arcadia Legion Hall in Arcadia.

Alison is a 2003 graduate of Kuemper Catholic High School in Carroll. She graduated from the University of Northern Iowa at Cedar Falls in 2007 with a major in elementary education and a minor in special education-instructional strategist I. She is employed as a second grade teacher at Gehlen Catholic Schools in Le Mars.

Jake graduated from Gehlen Catholic High School in Le Mars, and is a 2005 graduate of Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) in Ankeny with a major in commercial horticulture. He is employed with Oyens Feed as a truck driver.
