Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn's Jacob Lehnhoff was a roadblock for Gehlen Catholic's offense on Friday night as the Eagles won a 5-1 War Eagle Conference contest in Le Mars.

The Eagles' starting pitcher gave up just three hits as the Jays fell to 1-2 in league play.

MMC scored three runs in the third and two in the seventh to tally the victory.

Gehlen scored in the fourth on an RBI fielder's choice by Mitch Christoffel. The sophomore drove in Zach Wurth who singled earlier in the inning.

Aaron Schlesser took the loss on the mound, giving up five runs - one earned - on four hits. The junior retired six batters in the contest.

Gehlen's hits came from Phil Frye (1-for-2), Wurth (1-for-3) and Tyler Meyer (1-for-3).

The Jays return to WEC action on Monday at Unity.
