Michael G. Rolfes, 52, of Johnstown, Ohio, died Sunday, May 17, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer at Kobacker House, Johnstown, Ohio.
Michael was born March 23, 1957, in Le Mars, the son of Gunter and Virginia Louise (Workman) Rolfes.
At an early age he moved with his family to the Columbus,
Ohio area. He was an avid drag racer and worked for Anderson Concrete.
He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Donna, daughter Elizabeth Montgomery, grandchildren Chase, Chance and Desiree; brothers, David Rolfes and Ray (Betty) Rolfes; sister, Joanne (Gary) Worster; nephews, Josh, Mickey, Chris, Sean, Bret, Dylan and Dalton; nieces, Brandee and Mindy, great nieces, Ashlynne and Jocelyn, great-nephews, Scotty and Hunter; sisters-in-law, Becky (David) Alley and Debbie Irvine-Gray and brother-in-law Mike (Angie) Irving.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral was held at 10 a.m., Friday, May 22, with Father Reichart officiating. Private family cremation will take place at a later date.
Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna, Ohio 43230 was in charge of arrangements.
