Hinton notches pair of non-leage wins

Returning all-state golfer Erin Hedlund carded a 45 to earn medalist honors for Hinton as the Blackhawks won two matches Friday at Newell in a double dual with Newell-Fonda and East Sac County.

Hinton's 192 bested East Sac's 193 and N-F's 207.

Emily Knop shot a 46 and Britni Freed shot a 48. Katie Clausen shot a 53 to wrap up varsity counters.

Sierra Hazekamp (57) and Bree Vonheeder added non-counting scores for Hinton, who improves to 7-1 on the season overall. The Blackhawks host Akron-Westfield in War Eagle Conference action on Monday.

The JV girls team also won twice as its 236 bested the East Sac JV (240) and N-F JV (251).

Hannah VanEvera led the Blackhawks with a 57 and Morgan Mehrer was right behind with a 58. Abby VanEvera shot a 60 and Shannon Saulsbury shot a 61. Shelby Dittmer shot a 64 and Alyssa Kava wrapped up HInton's scores with a 65.
