Jim was born April 2, 1926, to Raymond and Laura (Daley) Schueder in Gaza, Iowa. He graduated from Calumet High School in 1945. On Sept. 20, 1947, he married the love of his life, Delores Bern, in Sutherland. They farmed for many years and lived in Florida for 11 years. Because of poor health, they moved back to Cherokee in 1998 to be with his family.
Jim was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus in which he was a 4th degree Knight.
Jim enjoyed farming and remodeling and was always busy doing odd jobs, working with his hands and helping his family. Jim took pride doing his yard work. During his early years, he enjoyed all the neighborhood card games that he and Delores belonged to. He enjoyed dancing and listening to polka music, and having coffee with his friends. He especially enjoyed being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jim had many major illnesses in his life and with the Grace of God always bounced back.
Jim had a joy in his smile, a gentle strength in his touch, and devotion unlike any other. He had wisdom for living and no end to his giving. Jim will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him.
