Benefit breakfast set for Scott Williams

Friday, February 27, 2009
A pancake benefit breakfast will be held 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, March 1, at the Eagles Club in Le Mars, for a Le Mars Community High School junior.

Scott Williams, 16, underwent a kidney transplant Nov. 22, 2008, at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., just three weeks after going on dialysis.

The Le Mars Eagles Club will host the fundraiser breakfast to help Scott and his family with medical bills. The event will also include a bake sale and silent auction.

Scott is the son of Terry Williams of Le Mars and has one sister, Amber. His grandparents are Randy and Debra Stitt of Sioux City and great-grandparents are Bob and Rose Williams of Merrill.

"Everyone has been so good about donations," Rose Williams said. "The local businesses have been very generous."

The breakfast menu includes pancakes, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, sausage, milk, orange juice and coffee for a free-will donation.

A fund for the Scott has also been set up at Primebank in Le Mars, where persons may give a donation.
