Valentine's Dance benefits LADS

The Magnificent Board of Directors return to Le Mars to perform for the Second Annual Valentine's Dance for Le Mars Area Dialysis Services Saturday, Feb. 14, at the Le Mars Convention Center. The band repertoire showcases the hit songs of the 60s, 70s and 80s and will keep everyone dancing the night away.

The Magnificent Board of Directors, a member of Iowa's Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame, will bring their music to the stage for the Second Annual Valentine's Dance for Le Mars Area Dialysis Services Saturday, Feb. 14, at the Le Mars Convention Center.

Music will flow from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. for all to enjoy.

Tickets for the fundraising event are available from members of the Le Mars Area Dialysis Services board members and a number of volunteers who are selling tickets for a minimum $25 donation per person. In addition to an evening of music and fun, a ticket purchase enters the holder in a drawing for a 42-inch HDTV. (Need not be present to win.) All proceeds from the dance will go toward Le Mars Area Dialysis Services.

The Magnificent Board of Directors is billed as an awesome rock n'roll horn band which has built up a fan base that has reached into the thousands. The band has performed concerts in a number of area communities, including Arnolds Park, Alta, Remsen, Akron, Sloan, Storm Lake, Algona, Aurelia, Sioux City, North Sioux City, South Sioux City, Wayne and other parts of the Siouxland area.

The Magnificent Board of Directors was voted and awarded the Siouxland's Choice Award for 2005. The band has a "Walk of Fame" brick honoring the them for their support of Iowa Rock n' Roll in Arnolds Park in front of Iowa's rock n' Roll Museum. The museum features a display of the band's career.

The band repertoire showcases the hit songs of the 60s, 70s and 80s and will keep everyone dancing the night away.

The Le Mars Area Dialysis Services board members are working to bring dialysis services to the Le Mars area. The center will be in the former Wells' Dairy Tech building at the corner of Central Avenue and First Street Southwest in downtown Le Mars. The group is working with an architect on renovation plans for the facility.

An update on progress in fundraising will be made at the Valentine's Dance.
