Alex and Lynnette Russell

Lynnette Kay Spears and Alex Tyler Russell of Lincoln, Neb., were united in marriage Sept. 20, 2008, in an outdoor wedding at Pioneers Park in Lincoln. The Rev. Gary Landsness officiate the 3 p.m. double ring ceremony.

Providing nuptial music were vocalist Jennifer Scholten and trumpet duet Alicia Henderson and Meghan Henderson.

Parents of the couple of Leroy and Karon Spears of Shenandoah and Dr. Monte and Ellen Russell of Le Mars.

Jessica Lichty of Sioux Falls, S.D., was maid of honor. Bridesmaid was Shannon Borchers of Andover, Minn., sister of the bridegroom. Junior bridesmaid was Bailey Borchers of Andover, Minn., niece of bridegroom.

Best man was Tony Schlickbernd of Overland Park, Kan. Donovan Spears, of Kansas City, Kan., brother of the bride, was groomsman.

Junior Groomsman was Jack Borchers of Andover, Minn., nephew of bridegroom.

The reception and dance were held at HiMark Golf Course Banquet Room

Lynnette is a graduate of Faragut High School. She received her bachelors degree in criminology at University of Nebraska at Lincoln and her masters degree in forensics science at Nebraska Wesleyan University. She is employed with the Lincoln Police Department working in the Family Crimes Division.

Alex is a graduate of Le Mars Community High School. He earned his bachelors degree in business administration a University of Nebraska at Lincoln. He is employed at the University of Nebraska as research technician for Midwest Roadside Safety Services

The couple took a wedding trip to Chico Hot Springs at Pray, Mont.

They are at home at 868 S. 44th St., Lincoln, Neb.
