Lady Rockets fall 47-30 at MVAO

The extra day of preparation did little to help Remsen-Union as the Lady Rockets dropped 47-30 decision to MVAO on Saturday in Mapleton.

The game was a makeup of Friday's game which was snowed out.

"It was another tough game for us," R-U coach Nick Fynaardt said. "We played kind of stuck at a level we don't want to to play at and that continued Saturday night."

"It's a new year bug - we didn't shoot the ball well and had a lot of turnovers."

The Lady Rockets made just 11-of-47 shots from the field and just eight-of-19 from the free throw line as they committed 27 turnovers.

"It's almost like we're putting a different ream out there on the floor," Fynaardt said. "If our girls play to their potential they have the ability to be in there."

Amanda Sudtelgte scored seven points and Cassia Stoos added six to pace the Lady Rockets.

Kelsey Paskert added four points, seven rebounds, two assists and four steals. Gina Frericks added four points and five rebounds.

The Lady Rockets (4-6) face River Valley on Tuesday at home, travel to Lawton on Thursday and face Gala-Holstein on Friday.

"We beat River Valley earlier this year," Fynaardt said.

"They were without their post player, but they're a team I think we stack up very well against. It will be nice to finally play in our gym again."
