Museum plans silent auction at New Year's Eve ball

Fifty area businesses from five communities in Plymouth County will have offerings on the Plymouth County Historical Museum's New Year's Eve Ball silent auction tonight (Wednesday).

The doors for the silent auction will open at 5:30 p.m. in "Old Central" Gym lobby. Bidding may continue on the auction items until 10 p.m.

Also featured will be a raffle of the Grandfather Clock, given by the late Laura Lauters. Music from 7 to 11 p.m. will be by "The Music Illusions." Tickets for the ball will be available at the door.

Free hors d'oeuvres will be available to those attending. The ball will drop from the Gym ceiling at 11 p.m. in keeping with the theme of "New York! New York!"
