The 64-voice mixed junior high choir will sing four selections including "Give Me Wings," "Noel, Noel," "When Peace Shall Come" and "Down, Down The Chimney." The junior high girls will sing "Sleep, Little Baby, Sleep" and the junior high boys will sing "The Shepherd's Spiritual." The junior high is directed and accompanied by Beverly Evans.
The high school choir, under the direction of Molly Gerrietts, will perform four pieces, including the Spanish "Riu Riu Chiu," and a setting of Christina Rossetti's "In the Bleak Midwinter." The choir will also sing a medley of tunes from around the world and an arrangement of "The First Noel" set to "Pachelbel's Canon in D."
The instrumental music department will feature four ensembles.
The fifth grade band will play "Good King Wenceslas," "Jolly Old St. Nicholas," "Jingle Bells," "Saw Mill Creek," and "Regal March." They will be followed by the sixth grade band's performance of "Trumpet Voluntary," "Silver Bells," "Rockin' Roundeau," and "Oh Come All Ye Faithful."
The junior high and high school concert bands will continue with "Greensleeves," "Marches of the Armed Forces," and "A Jubilant Christmas."
The concert will also feature Jazz I with "Blues for Three Brothers" and "Missing You."
Emily Hutchins, a 2008 All-State Honor Band percussionist, will also be recognized at the concert.
Instrumental music directors are Paul Niebuhr and Cliff McMurray.
The concert will be rebroadcast on AM 1410 KLEM on Christmas Day.
