Sioux Falls -- Funeral services for Robinette "Bobbie" (Thompson) Johnson, mother of Julie Dirks of Le Mars, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 16 at West Nidaros Lutheran Church near Crooks, S.D. Arrangements are in the care of Minnehaha Funeral Home in Baltic, S.D.
Bobbie was born Sept. 20, 1927, in Dell Rapids, S.D., the daughter of Robert and Julia (Sonen) Thompson. She married Lloyd Johnson in 1949 and the couple farmed in the Crooks, S.D., area. Bobbie also worked at Pizza Inn in Sioux Falls, S.D., from its inception in 1967. In the 1990s she worked at Sam's Club in Sioux Falls.
Grateful for sharing her life are her husband of 59 years, Lloyd Johnson, Sioux Falls; her daughters, Julie (Darwin) Dirks of Le Mars, and Jan Johnson, Portland, Ore.; her brother, Douglas Thompson, Fortuna, Calif.; her sister, Beverly Gerardi, Windsor, Conn.; her brothers-in-law, Gene (Doris) Johnson, Woodbury, Minn., and Wally (Doris) Johnson, Sioux Falls, and many dear friends and extended family, including Van (Sue) Brust of Staunton, Va., who she raised as a son.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Frances Thompson and a baby daughter.
