According to Arts Center director Kathy Moore, a trunk show is an opportunity for local quilters to get together, enjoy their common hobby and participate in a "Show and Tell" setting. Area quilters are encouraged to bring their latest or special quilt creation to share with the group. Exhibiting quilters will present their larger quilts and other items they are working on.
Quilt artists participating whose work is on display in the Arts Center Quilt Show are Lynne Grossmann, Carol Oolman and Claudia Sheets of Orange City; Linda Popken of Akron; Charla Sackmann of Alton; Hildred Vander Weide of Sioux Center; and Rosemary Cronin, Margaret Henrich, Kolleen Queener and Becky Wiersma of Le Mars.
If there is enough interest from local quilters, the Arts Center will host future get-togethers for of this kind, Moore noted.
The other quilt program offered by the Arts Center is the Barn Quilts of Plymouth County.
The exhibit galleries, Gallery III Gift Shop and office hours are Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. with special showings arranged as requested.
