Doyle and Dorathe Nielsen of Le Mars will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, with a open house from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Le Mars Willow Creek Golf Course.

Hosting the diamond event will be their children, Robin and David Grosenheider of Le Mars, Scott and Chris Nielsen of Remsen and Holly and Dave Schapiro of Tampa, Fla. The couple has five grandchildren.

Doyle Nielsen and the former Dorathe Woods were married Oct. 16, 1948, at First Lutheran Church in South Sioux City, Neb.

Doyle and Dorathe have lived in Le Mars for 50 years. Doyle was employed with Le Mars Mutual Insurance Company for 16 years. In 1974 he became partner in Morgan-Nielsen Insurance Agency in Remsen. He retired in 1985.
