Allison Howe was fifth on the Blackhawks roster after completing the course in 20:53, which placed her 47th overall. Coming in 48th with a 21:03 official time, was freshman Allie Beck.
"The times looked okay but it just didn't seem like we ran very well," said Hinton's coach Mark Wilson. "We just ran two days ago (at Kingsley-Pierson) but I hope that didn't have anything to do with what we looked like today."
"I know some girls weren't happy with their running," continued Wilson. "I know that Haley Hall wasn't really happy with her performance and we know she could have done better."
The team also had three competitors in the JV division as senior Brandi Schindel was seventh with a 19:24 finish. Fellow senior Kelci Teut was 18th after completing the course in 22:21. Crystal Robinson had a 24:37 time.
"Brandi had a good night tonight," said Wilson. "We moved her down to JV for this meet but we'll move her back up to varsity on Monday. Overall, we ran well, we just didn't place very well."
After running two races in three days, the Hinton cross country squad will have a few days off before they compete at the War Eagle Conference meet in Marcus on Monday.
Remsen St. Mary's was also in action at the George-Little Rock meet but their results were not available at the time of the Daily Sentinel's deadline.
