The Lady Rockets started their busy day with a loss to Class 1A No. 15 Galva-Holstein. The Pirates marched to a 21-13 win in game one before continuing their domination with a 21-9 win in game two.

On offense, Tasha Wurth paced the squad with three kills while Brittany Ruden, Loutsch and Cassie Stoos each smacked down one kill. Stoos set up the offense with 10 assists while Wurth dished up a pair of assists in the match.
Gina Mae Frericks held the defense at the net for the Lady Rockets, blocking a couple hits while adding a team-high nine digs in the back row. Kelsey Paskert and Stoos each dug out five balls in the match.
In the second match of the day, R-U faced off against their Plymouth County rival Kingsley-Pierson.
The Lady Panthers jumped to an early 1-0 lead in the match with a strong 21-8 win in game one. But the Lady Rockets battled back in game two to win 21-18. K-P took the 2-1 match victory with a 15-11 win in game three.
Paskert paced the offense with five kills while Gina Mae Frericks added four. Jen Ruba and Amanda Sudtelgte each rained down three kills in the match. Stoos dished up 15 assists for the offense while Wurth added a pair.
Ruba and Gina Mae Frericks each blocked a hit to boost R-U's defensive effort while Gina Mae Frericks and Stoos dug out three hits apiece in the back row. Paskert added one dig in the match.
From the service line, Loutsch nailed 9-10 with one ace and Wurth added a perfect 6-6 showing with an ace serve. Katie Frericks was 4-4 in the match while Gina Mae Frericks was 6-7.
The Lady Rockets took on Woodbury Central in their third straight match of the morning, falling 2-0 to the Wildcats with a pair of 21-8 losses.
R-U lost some of their energy in this match, with only four kills on offense. Wurth rained down a pair while Ruba and Annie Miller each added a kill.
Stoos dished up 12 assists while Wurth added one.
Stoos was a perfect 6-6 from the service line. She also had one ace serve. Loutsch was also perfect at 3-3 while Gina Mae Frericks went 3-4 in the match.
In their final match of the pool play round, R-U dug up an exciting win over Lawton-Bronson.
The Lady Rockets edged out the Eagles 21-19 to take a 1-0 match lead after game one. But Lawton-Bronson bounced back to a strong 21-13 win in game two. However, R-U got the final say with a commanding 15-2 stomp in game three to take the 2-1 match victory.
Wurth paced the Lady Rockets with a team-high eight kills. Gina Mae Frericks rained down seven kills while Ruba and Paskert smacked in five and four kills, respectively. Ruden added a pair of kills in the win.
Stoos dished out 20 assists to set up the offense. Wurth added two assists to the setting effort.
On defense, Gina Mae Frericks dug out five balls while Stoos managed three digs in the match. Ruba blocked three hits and Ruden recorded a pair of blocks for R-U.
From the service line, Loutsch led the Lady Rockets as she went 8-10 in the match with a team-high three aces. Stoos was a perfect 10-10 and smacked in one ace serve while Gina Mae Frericks was also 10-10 with an ace.
K-P also competed in the Western Valley Conference tournament pool play round at Holstein, but statistics from their games were unavailable at press time. The Lady Panthers posted a 2-2 record on the day, with wins over R-U (21-8, 18-21, 15-11) and Lawton-Bronson (21-11, 17-21, 15-8). K-P dropped a pair of matches to Galva-Holstein (22-20, 21-12) and Woodbury Central (21-18, 22-20).
The top team from each of the four pools advanced to Monday evening's finals in Moville. Those squads were Galva-Holstein, Logan-Magnolia, Maple Valley-Anthon-Oto and IKM-Manning. Results from Monday's finals were not available.
