A request form is required to receive an absentee ballot, whether in the Auditor's office or by mail. Request forms are available in the Auditor's Office or may be found online at www.co.plymouth.ia.us/Departments/audito... and clicking on the Absentee Ballot link.
Ballots will be mailed to the individual voter, who can then return the ballot by mail in the postage-paid envelope, or deliver the ballot in the sealed envelope to the Auditor's Office.
Individuals may pick up request forms for others, but may not pick up the actual ballot for another voter.
The Auditor's Office has already received requests for absentee ballots. Those ballots will be sent out today (Thursday).
The Auditor's Office is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The office will also be open the two Saturdays prior to the Nov. 4 general election for absentee voting.
The Nov. 4 election will be the first general election under the state's new election-day voter registration law that allows voters to register at the polls.
